Amnesty International explainer on our global crisis response investigations and refugee research.
'Be There' is an Amnesty International programme focused on supporting people affected by crisis and conflict through bringing together’s Crisis Response and Refugee & Migrant Rights work.
2023 saw a busy year with the teams working across the globe either leading on or supporting projects in 69 countries. The work has ranged from outbreaks of conflict in Sudan and IOPT; to on-the-ground investigations in countries including Ukraine, Canada, the Pacific Islands, Northeast Syria, Northeast Nigeria, Türkiye and Chad; to our ongoing campaigns and advocacy work.
Longer term work on the impact of conflict on children and older persons has continued, new work on climate refugees has started, and a celebration of Community Sponsorship ended the year with a large gathering event in Lisbon with partner GRSI. It’s been a great year of collaborations, and another strong year of human rights impact.
